The Queen of Reinvention

Hi, I’m Angie — Certified Breathwork Practitioner, founder of Inspire Breathwork, plant medicine enthusiast, EDM raver, roller-skating mama, writer, and what most would call a “crunchy mom” (natural childbirth, homemade baby food, herbal remedies, sourdough baking, connecting with nature… you name it).

If my life were a book, it would have a lot of chapters — and probably a few plot twists that make you wonder if the author was winging it. I’ve been a cosmetologist, phlebotomist, nail tech, personal trainer, non-invasive body contourist, and now, breathwork practitioner. Basically, I’ve lived enough career changes to fill a résumé the size of a CVS receipt.

The Beauty School Dream (and Reality Check)

At 18, I went to cosmetology school, convinced I’d found my forever path. I even had “proof”: a letter from my middle-school time capsule predicting I’d be a celebrity hairstylist. Clearly, the universe was confirming my destiny. For a while, it seemed true — I loved the work, built a clientele, and was in my first real relationship.

Then life laughed. Neither the relationship nor the dream career lasted.

Plot Twist: Motherhood and Medical Labs

Before I could even get my cosmetology license, I found myself unexpectedly pregnant and single. Suddenly, the “celebrity hairdresser” dream took a back seat to survival. I pivoted to phlebotomy — a quick four-week course that meant stable work and a steady paycheck. Drawing blood wasn’t exactly my passion, but it kept the lights on.

Between medical shifts, I still did hair and nails at home, but life felt like a nonstop juggle — especially when relationships kept ending in messy heartbreak.

The Stalker Chapter I Never Saw Coming

Not long after my son was born, I entered a relationship that would turn into one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. When I ended it, the man became a stalker. He harassed me, tracked my movements, and made me feel unsafe in my own home.

That period left deep scars. It wasn’t just fear — it was the way it robbed me of my sense of safety, trust, and peace. I became hyperaware, always bracing for the next threat. And although I didn’t know it then, this experience would shape the very heart of my work today. Because when you’ve lived in constant survival mode, you understand on a bone-deep level how essential it is to have spaces where you can finally let your guard down.

Hitting Bottom, Climbing Back

By 2014, after more heartbreak, I was physically and emotionally drained. My self-care routine was… nonexistent. Eventually, I decided I’d had enough and began reclaiming my health. I cleaned up my eating, moved my body, and slowly began to feel like me again. The changes inspired others, which inspired me right back, and I became a personal trainer.

It was great — until it wasn’t. I loved helping people, but hated the burnout. Juggling multiple jobs meant I barely saw my son, and that wasn’t okay.

In 2017, I bought my first home — a milestone I’m still proud of — and scaled back on work. I also fulfilled a dream I’d carried for years: fostering. That’s when I met Jay, a 16-year-old with a heart of gold and more resilience than anyone I’d met. We learned to trust each other, and for a while, we were family. Even after she left my care, we stayed in touch. She taught me more about love and patience than I could have imagined.

Enter: The Breathwork Breakthrough

By 2019, life had thrown me back into another dark season. Depression, self-doubt, and disconnection had crept in again — but now I had an even deeper understanding of how much pain the body can store. Then I tried breathwork for the first time.

In my very first session, I experienced a release so profound it felt like years of emotional and energetic weight had been lifted. I couldn’t believe the power of something as simple as breathing.

With no local practitioners, I turned to online videos — but my practice fizzled. Fast forward a few years, and after yet another tough period, I came back to it with intention. I began breathing again and eventually trained with Soma+IQ, got certified, and finally found something that wasn’t just work — it was my calling.

Life Now (Spoiler: It’s Pretty Great)

Today, I live with my amazing life partner and our children — one handsome teenager, one wild toddler, one beautiful baby girl, and one purring fur ball. Our home is filled with plants, music, and more love than I ever thought possible. I rave when I can, roller skate when the mood strikes, create herbal remedies on my free time, and write whenever inspiration hits.

In my breathwork practice, safety is everything. I know what it’s like to feel constantly on edge, and I’m intentional about creating sessions where clients can drop that armor. We take time before and after the breath to connect, set intentions, and process what comes up. During the active breathing, I guide you, but also give you space to feel and express fully — without fear, without judgment.

Looking back, I see it clearly: every “wrong turn,” every heartbreak, every reinvention — even the trauma I never wanted — was preparing me for this work. Breathwork gave me my breakthroughs, and now it’s my honor to help you find yours, one breath at a time.
